Section1: SiS300/SiS305 Driver Installation Guide

SiS300 supports operation system Windows 2000, Windows 95/98/ME and Windows NT4.0. These drivers have been compressed as self-decompressing files and named as "300win2k.exe", "300win9x.exe", and "300nt40.exe" respectively. They are available on SiS web page now.

After downloading the driver file which matches your operation system, please put it in a folder in your hard disk then execute it. The driver will decompress automatically. After that, please refer to the corresponding installation instruction in this document to install the driver for your system.

The driver of Windows 95/98/ME has been packaged by Installation Shield R. Users are able to install the driver by simply executing the file "Setup.exe" under Windows. As to Windows 2000 and Windows NT, users have to install them in a standard INF method. If anyone who wants to install Windows 95/98/ME by the standard INF method instead of using the "Setup.exe", he/she can access SiS300Win95Sis300m.inf or SiS300Win98Sis300m.inf respectively.

Driver installation procedure of each OS will be introduced in this document. Customers are suggested to follow up those steps to do the installation.

Section2: Note

1. SiS300/SiS305 Windows2000, Windows95 and Windows98 drivers support DirectX 7.0. However, DirectX driver is not included in these driver packages. Anyone who needs DirectX installed has to do extra installation. DirectX driver can be obtained from Microsoft web site.

2. SiS300/SiS305 drivers on SiS web site are slightly different from those provided by SiS300/SiS305 card makers. For example, the utility "Setting Manager" in Win95/98 is not provided in web site versions due to size consideration.
